Fr. Kris Schmidt was raised in St. Albert and, after completing a B.Sc. at the University of Alberta, pursued a possible vocation to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Edmonton. Completing his Masters of Divinity at Newman College and formation at St. Joseph Seminary, he was ordained to the priesthood on June 27, 2014. Since then he has served as an associate pastor at St. Joseph’s Basilica and pastor in Fort Saskatchewan. He is currently pastor in Camrose, AB and serves as the vocations director for the Archdiocese.
