Sacred Music workshops for Clergy & Parish Musicians
This course is open to anyone with an interest in sacred music, but will be most useful to all those involved in parish liturgies.
These workshops tackle both the principles of sacred music and the practical application of authentic sacred music through lectures, seminars and singing sessions.
Sept. 30 - Sung Theology: Sanctification Through Glorification
Nov. 4 - Are We Singing from the Same Hymn Sheet?
Dec. 2 - Sacred Music for the Next Millennium
Outcomes
1. We will be studying the theological function of liturgical music, both practical and pastoral.
2. An introduction to the Church’s repertoire of Gregorian and vernacular chant, its notation and the necessary skills of chant performance.
3. Gain an intimate knowledge of sacred music that will enable participants to help others in their own community develop this crucial element of liturgical participation.
